July 2013

Mary Rowley, a longtime ISSA member and major contributor to the ISSA Motor City Chapter, was elected as an ISSA Fellow in July, 2013.

Twice each year an exemplary group of long-term ISSA members are recognized in two categories: Fellows and Distinguished Fellows. These individuals have distinguished themselves in advancing the professionalism, stature and influence of information security professionals through serving as leaders of ISSA and significantly contributing to the cybersecurity community as well as to chapter leadership and/or the international or national security posture. Honorees are selected by the Fellow Selection Committee and voted on by the ISSA International Board of Directors.

The Fellow Program attracts a highly competitive pool of candidates and I am pleased to announce that one Distinguished Fellow and seven Fellows have been chosen during the summer 2013 selection cycle,” said George Proeller, ISSA Fellow Chair. “We congratulate Mary Rowley and greatly appreciate her contributions to this association and the international cybersecurity industry.”

Presidents Message

Melinda Shoemaker's picture

Greetings to All,

We have seen some positive changes over the past couple of years with the ISSA Motor City Chapter, from a number of sponsored hosted facility sites, meeting formats, new membership, and Board leadership. The 2012 year ended with an elegant catered Christmas meeting at the Vista Tech Center in Livonia. This year we are pleased that Schoolcraft College’s Vista Tech Center will continue as our platinum sponsor, hosting our monthly meetings the third Thursday of every month. We are truly appreciative to all our sponsors, because it is through each and every sponsor’s generosity and support that we are able to accomplish the many goals we have set forth to help the ISSA Motor City Chapter thrive and prosper.
